"There are many exciting opportunities within the Indian River High School Music department. Students enrolled in band or chorus are able to audition for many smaller, select ensembles. All music students may audition for the Renaissance Ensemble, Chamber Choir, Stage Band, and our annual Variety Show. The band performs every year in many local parades and in our district’s other schools. The chorus performs outside of school for many community events and functions. In addition to traveling to New York City each year to see a Broadway musical, the music department also travels to perform at adjudicated festivals up and down the east coast, including Boston, Myrtle Beach, Atlanta, and Disneyworld. Music students may also audition for the Sussex County Honors Band, All-State Band, All-State Jazz Band, All-State Orchestra, and All-State Mixed and Women’s Choruses."
