Welcome to the Nurses’ Office!

A student’s health status affects his or her ability to learn; children with unmet health needs have a difficult time performing academically. The school nurse supports student success by providing health care through assessment, intervention and follow-up, e.g. caring for the sick and injured, screenings (vision, hearing and posture), immunization and attendance review, referrals and more.

Some helpful reminders to assure your child and other students are attending a safe and healthy learning environment:

  • Keep your child home until his or her fever has been gone for 24 hours WITHOUT medication-returning too soon may slow the recovery period and expose others to illness.

  • Always encourage plenty of water, rest and a nutritious breakfast for improved attention.

  • Contact the school nurse for extended illnesses.

  • Provide notes within 2 days of an absence (school policy).

Thank you
